Fucking hell that brings back some bad memories. That's how my Green MR2 got written off, the car in front locked up and hit another car, I stopped with about the same gap and the car behind me hit at 40-50kph and pushed me into the car in front.
My head cracked the rear window and then when my car hit the one in front I was flung forward and headbutted the ceiling before the seatbelts stopped me from going any further. Good thing insurance covered absolutely everything and I got a better car out of it.
